File formats
Event and settings files
| Extension | What it is |
|---|---|
.qevent | Event design package (pages, templates, categories) — no statistics, no photos. Made with Export Event; opened with Import Event. |
.qeventbak | Complete event backup: design, database, captured shots, results and logs. Made with Backup. |
.qtheme | Ready-made event theme (the look of the runtime pages). |
.qbset | Backup of all app settings. Made with Export Settings…, restored with Import Settings… in Settings › Other. |
Template files (one per studio)
| Extension | Studio |
|---|---|
.qsd | AI Offline Studio, including Face Swap templates. |
.qso | AI Online Studio. |
.qsp | Photo Studio. |
.qsc | Collage Studio. |
.qsm | Motion Studio. Music and assets are stored inside, so the file is self-contained. |
.qsl | Lenticular Studio. |
.qsf | Flipbook Studio. |
.qsg | Augmented Reality (AR) Studio. |
Other files
| Extension | What it is |
|---|---|
.cube | LUT colour filter, used by the camera filter presets. |
.png | Overlay frames, guide images and other images with transparency. |
.webm | Transparent video clip (for example an effect or AR character), made with the Transparent WebM Converter in Settings › Other. |
.zip | Log archive made with Export Logs, to send to support. |
Folder structure
Inside the Q-Booth installation folder:
| Folder | Contents |
|---|---|
assets\ | Built-in assets: event themes, LUT filters, textures, videos, shared media and AI templates. |
events\ | One subfolder per event, named after the Event ID. Holds the design, the database, the result and camera folders, and exported reports (reports\). |
images\ | Global folders for results, camera shots and clipboard images. |
settings\ | App configuration, interface state and the job database. |
log\ | Log files for diagnostics. |
backup\, exported_event\ | Event backups and exported events. |
The Event ID is fixed when the event is created and becomes its folder name, so it cannot be changed later. You can change where results and camera shots are saved in Settings › General, and add an EXTERNAL RESULT FOLDER per event for an extra copy.
Output ratios and resolutions
The event ratio should match the booth monitor's orientation. It sets the canvas of every design page and decides which overlay frame is used.
| Ratio | Resolution (px) | Orientation |
|---|---|---|
| 16:9 | 1920 × 1080 | Landscape |
| 4:3 | 1920 × 1440 | Landscape |
| 3:2 | 1920 × 1280 | Landscape |
| 1:1 | 1920 × 1920 | Square |
| 9:16 | 1080 × 1920 | Portrait |
| 3:4 | 1440 × 1920 | Portrait |
| 2:3 | 1280 × 1920 | Portrait |
| Custom | Free size | — |
Make overlay PNGs at the same size as the ratio's resolution, with a transparent area where the photo shows through.

- Template Picker — the guest picks a style.
- Camera — countdown (if placed), capture and review.
- Input — only if the template asks for input.
- Processing — the result is being made.
